Barbara W. Landers of West Falmouth died May 17 at Royal Falmouth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was 100.

She was the widow of Warren S. Landers.

The daughter of Chester T. Whaley and Emily Whaley, she was born in Far Rockaway, New York, and grew up in Wakefield, Rhode Island. After attending the University of Rhode Island for two years, she entered the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 1941.

After graduating Johns Hopkins, Ms. Landers worked as a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital and South County Hospital in Rhode Island; she also was a public health school nurse for the City of Milford, Connecticut.

She and her husband moved to West Falmouth in 1980.

She leaves her two daughters, Cynthia Szymanski and Nancy Halstead, both of Harrisville, Rhode Island; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Jeannie Decker and Chester Whaley, both of Florida.
