Carol Yachtis

Carol Ann Yachtis, 80, of Falmouth died November 14 at Falmouth Hospital.

She was the widow of Raymond Yachtis.

She was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, to John and Josephine (Sheehan) Green, and was educated at Wilby High School. 

Ms. Yachtis worked for many years at Portmeirion in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Her career allowed for much travel to New York City, as well as the experience of attending high tea in Wales with company owners.

She moved in 2008 from Connecticut to Cape Cod to be closer to her family. Living here she spent time planting flowers, playing cards and volunteering with the Falmouth Senior Center.

She also leaves a daughter, Michelle (Carrafa) Flaherty and her partner, Kevin Hagerty; four granddaughters, AmyBeth Commendatore, Sarah Borowski, Johannah Medeiros and Emily Thames; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Rander; and other family.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by their child Paul, who died shortly after his birth.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 21, beginning at 1 PM with a service at 2:30, at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

Burial will be private.
