Word has been received that Cheryl Anne Palmer, 63, of East Falmouth died April 26.

Born in Worcester, she grew up in North Stonington, Connecticut, and as a teenager moved with her family to a farm in Corry, Pennsylvania.

In Corry, she met George (Fred) Palmer and they were married May 15, 1982.

Within a few years, the couple moved to Martha’s Vineyard with their two children until October 2000, when she and her husband settled in the Davisville section of East Falmouth.

Ms. Palmer most enjoyed being at home surrounded by her family and their pets. She especially loved her cats and received immense joy from them.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Jonathan Palmer of Texas and Rebecca Palmer Claussen of Martha’s Vineyard; three granddaughters, Kayla Palmer and Kata Palmer, both of Texas, and Lillian Claussen of Martha’s Vineyard; her father, John Svetz of Martha’s Vineyard; two brothers, Gary Svetz of Pennsylvania and Jim Svetz of New York; and extended family.

Ms. Palmer was predeceased by her mother, Joan Svetz.

A celebration in her honor was held over the summer in her back yard.
