Christopher D. Donnelly, 73, of Falmouth died unexpectedly on December 26.

He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Rau) Donnelly for 54 years.

Born and raised in Boston, he was the eldest child of Gerald and Catherine (Murray) Donnelly.

Mr. Donnelly worked in construction management for more than 50 years.

He was an avid golfer and a member of Cape Cod Country Club, and was known for his statement that he only played golf on days that ended in Y. He also had a love for the ocean, and walked the beach nearly every morning at sunrise.

Prior to retiring to Falmouth, he lived in Natick and Medway.

In addition to his wife he leaves three daughters and their spouses, Jackie Lawrence and her husband, Steve Lawrence, of Falmouth and Natick, Jen Donnelly and her husband, Marco Gargurevich, of Natick and Sarah Donnelly of Natick; four grandchildren, Max and Zach Gargurevich and Drew and Hannah Lawrence, all of Natick; several siblings; and extended family.

A visiting hour will be Saturday, January 2, from 9 to 10 AM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

Following the visitation, a funeral Mass will be said at 11 o'clock at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway.
