Christopher John Cheverie, 55, of East Falmouth died March 17.

Born in Everett, he was the son of James and Mary Cheverie. In 1976 his parents moved their family from West Roxbury to Cape Cod. He graduated in 1984 from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.

Mr. Cheverie had a long career in the supermarket industry.

He worked his way up from his first job as a bagger in his teens to the director of operations for more than 30 grocery stores including A&P and Grand Union.

Most recently he was general manager at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Hyannis.

The father of two children, he was supportive of their activities and a coach to his son for hockey and Little League.

With his partner of many years, Stacey Flynn Boudrot, he watched Boston sports and attended Bruins and Red Sox games and visited Gillette Stadium. He also enjoyed fishing with relatives and friends.

In addition to Ms. Boudrot, he leaves his daughter and son, Shannon Cheverie and Christopher J. Cheverie Jr.; his father, James Cheverie of South Dennis; two siblings, James Cheverie of Yarmouthport and Stacy Brackett of Dennis; and other family members.

He was predeceased in 2019 by his mother.

A memorial service for Chris Cheverie was held earlier this week.

Burial was to be private.
