Daniel C. Frye Sr., 86, of Falmouth died at home on January 3.

He was the husband of Yvonne M. Frye.

The son of Harrison and Ethel M. (Coombs) Frye, he was a member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and a former resident of Mashpee.

Mr. Frye served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Mashpee Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5489 and also had served as a deacon at Mashpee Baptist Church for 25 years.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Kathy, Miranda, Rita and Kenny Pires, Wanda and David Crenshaw, Cheryl and Cedric Cromwell, Kimberly Frye and Collie, Sonya and Kelvix Thurnton, Kim and David Smith, Wendy and Warren Randolph, Daniel C. Frye Jr., Daryl Frye Sr., Ricky Pottle, Randy and Candy Pottle, James and Nellie Pottle, and John and Tabitha Pottle.

He also leaves his brother, Curtis W. Frye Sr. of Mashpee; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other family.

A celebration of his life is planned for May.
