David P. Grigas, 64, died June 26 at his home in North Falmouth.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Daniel P. Grigas and E. Naomi (McCarthy) Grigas.

Mr. Grigas was a skilled carpenter.

He was a veteran of the US Army.

During his lifetime, Mr. Grigas had participated in many outdoor activities, such as backpacking through Europe, fishing and kayaking the Cape waters, hiking and biking. He had a particular love for exploring Jamaica.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Carol A. Grigas of North Falmouth; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Grigas and LaDonna Morrison Grigas, and grandson, Noah Paul Grigas, all of Wareham; three siblings, Elizabeth Loosemore, Eleanor D. McMahon and Donald P. Grigas; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Anthony F. Grigas; and his father and mother, who died in 2003 and 1982, respectively.

A celebration of his life will take place in Waquoit in September.

His ashes will be scattered in Negril, Jamaica, in January.
