David Robert Holland of Falmouth and Venice, Florida, died Friday, February 12, at the age of 80.

He was the husband of Terry (Alighieri) Holland.

Born in Boston, the son of the late David and Henrietta (Macleod) Holland. He grew up in Dedham and graduated from Dedham High School in 1958. He went on to graduate from Boston University and was commissioned in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served for 28 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. After leaving the service, he worked for 20 years with a defense contractor at Hanscom Air Force Base.

Mr. Holland was a member of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts, where he was installed a District Deputy Grand Master. He was also Grand Steward and Past Master of the Rabboni Lodge, Past Master of the Winslow Lewis Lodge and member of the Marine Lodge in Falmouth.

He and his family spent summers on the Cape, and eventually moved here full-time. He also spent many winters in Venice, Florida, with his family. While living on the Cape, he was active with the Newcomers Club.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Laura Liddy and her husband, James Liddy, of Sarasota, Florida, Heidi Pasquale and her husband, Mark Pasquale, of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Diane Ferrari and her husband, John Ferrari, of Sarasota, Florida; David Holland and his wife, Jeannette Holland, of Plainville, Matthew Holland and his wife, Alicia Holland, of Bradenton, Florida, Ava Martin and her husband, Michael Martin, of Walpole and Michael Noe of Walpole; 14 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other family.

He was the brother of the late Lieutenant John A Holland and Sergeant James H. Holland.

Visiting hours and funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 19, from 9 AM to noon at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington Street, Norwood.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood immediately following the service.
