Donald Stark

Donald R. Stark of East Falmouth died at Cape Cod Hospital on September 13, following a long illness. He was 71.

He was the husband of Denise Kelly-Stark, to whom he was married 49 years.

Born in Provincetown, he was the son of the late Francis and Ida Stark. He grew up on Cape Cod and, following high school, he enlisted and served in the US Coast Guard. Later, he attended Cape Cod Community College, where he received his associate’s degree.

For more than 20 years Mr. Stark worked as an electronics engineer in research and development for Benthos Marine.

He was an active member of the Monument Beach Sportsman’s Club for more than three decades.

He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time at the ocean and working in his garden, and was an avid fisherman. He won championships for his talent in bench rest shooting. Mr. Stark liked to cook.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two children, Thomas Stark and Elizabeth Stark; a granddaughter, Lily Stark; his sister and brothers, Kathy Batterson, Francis W. Stark and Robert Stark; and other family.

A funeral service will be Saturday, September 25, at 1 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations–Mashpee, 74 Algonquin Avenue in Mashpee.

Burial will be private.
