Edith L. DePonte of Falmouth died on September 17. She was 92.

She was the wife of Lawrence DePonte Sr., to whom she was married for 65 years. They were wed at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.

Born in Provincetown and raised in Hyannis, she was the daughter of James E. Clarke and Edith M. (Williams) Clarke.

Ms. DePonte was a longtime active communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, where she also served as a Eucharistic minister and CCD teacher and was a member of the choir.

She leaves her children, Lawrence DePonte Jr. and his wife, Karen DePonte, of East Falmouth, Valerie Oldham of Mashpee, Melissa Abrams of East Falmouth and Melinda Rebelo and her husband, Joseph Rebelo, of East Falmouth; three grandchildren, Tammie Kukoleca, John L. DePonte and Krystal M. Abrams; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her three siblings.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, September 30, from 9 to 10 AM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway, followed by burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
