Eleanor S. Foley of Clinton, who maintained a second home in North Falmouth, died September 28. Ms. Foley, 75, died at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Hospital Leominster, following an illness.

She was the wife of Robert E. Foley, to whom she was married for 53 years.

Born and raised in Quincy, she was the daughter of John A. and Eleanor S. Wright. She was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1963, and Burdett College in Boston.

Following their marriage in 1968, she and her husband made their home initially in North Weymouth and then in Duxbury. After 33 years in Duxbury the couple moved to Clinton in 2010.

She and her husband owned a vacation home in North Falmouth. Ms. Foley enjoyed taking care of the property during time spent here and put her experience to use on the grounds of her home: she was an active member of the garden club in her off-Cape community and an expert gardener of perennials who won numerous awards through the years.

Besides her husband, she leaves two children, Dr. Maureen E. Foley and her fiancé, Mark Smith, of Burke, Virginia, and Robert P. Foley and his wife, Marcia Lopez, of Clinton; two grandchildren, Robert J. Foley and Edward N. Foley; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were to be private.
