Frederick E. Ward of Teaticket died Monday, January 4. He was 96.

He was the husband of Elizabeth (Marshall) Ward. Married for 64 years, the couple had lived in the same home since the day they were wed.

Mr. Ward was a veteran of World War II.

He spent most of his working years in carpentry. He was retired from his work at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, where he worked in the carpenter shop for many years.

Mr. Ward loved all things aeronautical, especially old biplanes. When he was no longer able fly in them anymore, he spent his spare time making airplane models.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Marti Kinkor of Eastham and Rosemary Merana of Lake Monroe, Florida; his sister-in-law, Nathalie Almeida of Falmouth; niece and nephew, Donna Skelly of Falmouth and William Abrams of Wareham; two grandsons, Elijah O’Ward of Bridgewater and David Teeters of Dade City, Florida; and five great-grandsons.

A funeral Mass will be said on Thursday, January 14, at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway.
