Gilda Shanley

Gilda Shanley, 94, of Falmouth and Lexington died June 6 at her home in Waquoit.

She was the wife of John P. Shanley, to whom she was married for 70 years.

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Raffaela DiManna.

She was a graduate of Classical High School and the Katharine Gibbs School in Providence.

Ms. Shanley supported her husband in his career and raised their four children.

In addition to her husband, she leaves their children, Dr. Paul Shanley and his wife, Elizabeth Shanley, of Manlius, New York, Jeanne M. Shanley DiPietro and her husband, Francis D. DiPietro Jr., of East Falmouth, Mary C. Salvucci and her husband, John G. Salvucci, also of East Falmouth, and Jane Alessandra of Montague; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours are set for Friday, June 10, from 4 to 7 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 584 West Falmouth Highway.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 11, at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
