Grace Osterhout Beattie, a former Falmouth resident who moved to Campton, New Hampshire, died March 30 at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, New Hampshire. Ms. Beattie, 81, had recently been diagnosed with cancer.

She was born in Boston.

Following her graduation in 1958 from Northeastern University, she worked as a buyer for RH Stearns Department Store.

She and Paul D. Beattie married on May 17, 1980. The couple lived in Falmouth for 28 years before they moved to Campton.

An avid reader and gardener, she also enjoyed traveling and time spent at the KOA Campground in Florida.

In addition to her husband, Ms. Beattie leaves her siblings, Richard Osterhout and Audrey Dunnell, both of Conway, New Hampshire.

Services were yesterday, April 7, at Holderness Community Church in Holderness, New Hampshire.

Interment will be at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
