Harry Spooner

Harry R. Spooner, 66, of Falmouth died unexpectedly on November 20 at his home.

An arborist, Mr. Spooner ran his own company and spent much of his life with a focus on trees and yards. He also helped maintain the boats at Little River Boatyard and assisted clients with their launch and return from boating on Waquoit Bay.

For many years he quahogged in Waquoit Bay with his former wife, Karen, accompanied by their two dogs. Another favorite activity was ocean fishing; he would later freeze his catch to be eaten during the winter.

Born in Fairhaven, he was the son of the late Harry and Evelyn Spooner.

In addition to his former wife, he leaves his sisters, Marlene Soracco, Sue Spooner and Elizabeth Spooner; four stepsisters, April Spooner, Jackie Jepsen, Susan Ladow and Maura Rufo; two stepbrothers, Philip Jepsen and Steve Jepsen; and other family.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Spooner; a stepbrother, Michael Jepsen; and his stepmother, Arlene Spooner.

Visitation will be tomorrow, Saturday, December 4, beginning at 2 PM with a 4 o’clock service, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

Burial will be at a later date.
