In Loving Memory: Philip C. VanBuskirk, 78, of East Falmouth, passed away on Friday October 8, 2021, at Cape Heritage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Sandwich. Born in Troy, New York he was the son of the late Virginia (Ports) and Joseph DeSorbo.

He graduated from Lawrence High School (Falmouth) Class of 1961. After graduation he served in the United State Navy and was honorably discharge in 1967. After leaving the Navy he enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts. He went to work at his stepfather’s restaurant, PJ Dairy Freeze, in Woods Hole. Philip worked as food and beverage manager in several notable restaurants in Falmouth and after leaving the restaurant industry he worked in the Pet Food industry for several years.

After retiring he pursued his passion for golf, gardening, and water ponds for several years.

For 49 years, he was the beloved husband of Judith F. (Young) VanBuskirk. Dear brother of Raymond E. VanBuskirk, and the late Richard VanBuskirk and his surviving wife Mildred VanBuskirk. Loving uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the MA National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne on Friday, October 22 at 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice of Cape Cod.
