Jack Raymond Howard, 74, of Falmouth died December 10 at Cape Cod Hospital.
He was the husband of Marilyn A. (Trabucco) Howard. They had been married for 48 years at the time of her death in 2015.
Born in Newton, he was the son of Henry M. Howard and Elizabeth (Wildman) Howard.
He graduated from Norton High School in 1964 and attended Cape Cod Community College.
Mr. Howard enlisted in the US Coast Guard after high school and was stationed at USCG Station Woods Hole. Upon his honorable discharge, he began working full-time at Waquoit Landscaping. He eventually acquired the business. He later started Cape Cod Wholesale Nursery with his friend and business partner, John Carcieri, in 1986.
He leaves two sons, Jeffrey S. Howard and his wife, Michelle M. Howard, of Oakham and Christopher E. Howard and his wife, Suzanne A. Howard, of Mashpee; his sister, Duane Sargent of Yarmouth; five grandchildren; and extended family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Henry M. Howard III.
A private burial service will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in East Falmouth.
There will be a public celebration of his life and Mass said at a future date.
