Jesse E. Enos Jr. of Falmouth died December 31 after a brief battle with COVID-19. He was 65.

The son of Jesse E. Enos Sr. and Isabel J. (Lopes) Enos of East Falmouth, he graduated from Falmouth High School in the Class of 1973.

Mr. Enos was an avid mechanic with a passion for drag racing. He was known by many around the racing community for his ability to fix anything and willingness to lend assistance. At New England Dragway, his enthusiasm for the sport led him to many friendships.

Weekends not spent at the racetrack were usually spent on the ocean, where Mr. Enos pursued his love of boating and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he leaves two siblings, Sharon Smith and Michael Enos of Falmouth; two nieces, Kelly Brailey of Barnstable and Brittney Martinsen of East Falmouth; a daughter, Jessica Lynn Enos; and a grandson, Lucas Enos-Picard.

The funeral will be private.

A celebration of his life is planned for a later date.
