Word has been received that Joan Chandler Priest of Holbrook, formerly of Falmouth, died November 26. She was 85.
Born in Medford to Muriel (Greene) Chandler and Robert F. Chandler Jr., she was raised in Arlington.
She was a registered nurse for 30 years at Goddard Hospital in Stoughton. She raised her family with her late husband, Donald T. Priest, in Brockton.
After living in Falmouth from 2000 to 2009, she returned to Brockton for several years, then lived with her daughter in Holbrook.
She was a former member of Central United Methodist Church in Brockton and a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Falmouth.
She enjoyed swimming, gardening and reading.
She leaves her children, Laura Casey and her husband, Joseph Casey, of Hull, Douglas Priest and his wife, Linda Priest, of Albany, New York, and Lisa Shea of Holbrook; and two grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, January 15, from 1 to 3 PM.
A service of remembrance will follow at 3 PM in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main Street, Brockton. The service will be livestreamed.
Private committal will be held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington.
