Kathryn Ann Austin of East Falmouth died at home October 21, after a brief illness. She was 73.

She was the widow of Nathan Austin.

The daughter of Mary and Neal Kelly, she was born and raised in Boston. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Jamaica Plain, where she was a member of the high school marching band.

Ms. Austin moved to Falmouth and became a Cape Codder for more than 40 years. She retired after a long career in banking and financial services and lived in Sandwich.

She leaves her nephews, Thomas A. Murray and John J. Murray Jr. of East Falmouth; two nieces, Liz Gossington of East Falmouth and Deidre Klassen of Santa Clarita, California; three great-nephews, Jared Marshall, Matthew Gossington and Dustin Klassen; and two great-nieces, Julia Marshall and Kathryn Klassen.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her nieces Jacqueline Marshall and Deborah Ballou; her parents; two sisters, Teresa M. Metell and Patricia McKay; and a brother, John R. Lynch.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 4, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home at 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

Afterward, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery on Gifford Street in Falmouth.
