Luella L. Hallas of Falmouth died April 30 at the age of 84.

She had worked as a paralegal while raising a daughter as a single mother.

Ms. Hallas was active in the Woods Hole Community Association, for which she had served as co-president. She also had volunteered as a board member of Cape Cod Child Development.

In her younger days, she was an avid folk dancer and participated in many folk dance festivals in California. Although she didn’t continue dancing after moving to Massachusetts and having a child, she continued to love Russian and Eastern European folk music.

She leaves her daughter, Nuala Sheetz; and two grandsons.

A memorial service is planned for July 13 at 10 AM at Fisher Hall, Church of the Messiah in Woods Hole.
