Lynne Forrest Salter of East Falmouth died unexpectedly on October 30, during treatment for suspected metastatic cancer. She was 74.

She was the wife of Russell W. Salter, to whom she was married for nearly 20 years.

As a professional social worker, Ms. Salter specialized in counseling and advocating for children and adolescents in need of stable homes, protecting their rights for a safe and caring place in which to grow. She also directed a crisis clinic for women suffering from abuse.

What she enjoyed most was working directly with clients as a therapist.

Ms. Salter loved the beach and to dance and sing along to her favorite songs.

She leaves her son, Jake Forrest, and daughter-in-law, Alia Forrest; two grandchildren, Nadia Forrest and Sami Forrest; four siblings, Nancy James, Donald Nealon, Patricia Nealon and Stephen Nealon; her stepchildren, David and Nicole Salter, and Kelly and Steve Braverman; four stepgrandchildren; and extended family.

A memorial service will be Saturday, November 23, at 2 PM at Waquoit Congregational Church at 15 Parsons Lane, East Falmouth.
