Marilyn A. McCarthy, 86, of West Yarmouth died September 6. She leaves family in Falmouth.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and left in her teenage years to live in Quincy, where she remained for most of her adult life. She traveled with her husband, Robert McCarthy, and their four daughters while he was in the US Marine Corps.

Ms. McCarthy worked for 10 years at Quincy Cooperative Bank and moved to Cape Cod in 1983. Here she was employed for more than 20 years at the All Seasons Motor Inn. For 13 years she worked in customer service at the Cape Cod Mall, receiving many appreciation awards for outstanding performance.

She enjoyed reading, knitting, walking, dancing, music and going to the beach.

Ms. McCarthy leaves a sister, Rita Green of New Jersey; her daughters, Patricia D'Allessandro, Pamela Maybruck and Kelle Charpentier, all of Plymouth, and Robin Culver of Falmouth; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband; and by her sister Katie Brock.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17, at 11 AM at St. Pius X Church, 98 Station Avenue in South Yarmouth.

Burial will follow at 1:15 PM at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
