Mary P. Miller of Falmouth died March 25. She was 82.
Born in Medford, she was the daughter of Daniel E. and Marion J. Magane. She was raised in Watertown and graduated from Saint Patrick High School.
She met Paul J. Miller while she lived in Watertown. He was in the US Marine Corps, stationed in North Carolina, and drove many times to Watertown to see her. They married in 1960 and settled in Norwood.
Ms. Miller worked as an administrative assistant in the Norwood Public Schools for many years and was active in the Prescott Elementary School PTA. She was an avid tennis player and worked part time at an indoor tennis club to get court time.
She and her husband bought a cottage in Falmouth in 1978 and spent summers there. In 1987 they built a home on Carey Lane in Quissett with a tennis court in the back yard, where they played multiple times a week for close to 30 years.
They spent many winters in Naples, Florida, and enjoyed traveling.
She leaves three daughters, Maureen Underhill and her husband, Donald Underhill, of Plymouth, Mary Pat Palmer and her husband, Fred Palmer, of Shelburne, Vermont, and Diane Anton of Lexington; two sons, Paul Miller of Norton and Michael Miller of Oak Bluffs; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Robert E. Magane of Dedham; and other family.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard F. Magane.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, March 31.
Burial will be private.
