A celebration of the life of Dorothy Irene Gow will be Saturday, June 22, at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Falmouth. Ms. Gow, 96, died January 31, 2017.

Born in Sharon, she was the daughter of Arvid Nordlund and Isabelle (Moffet) Nordlund.

She attended Radcliffe business college and then worked at Harvard University, where she met Daniel D.J. Gow, whom she would marry.

Her roots in Falmouth began in 1960 with summers spent at New Silver Beach with her three children. After living in Cataumet and then Clearwater, Florida, she moved back to Falmouth in 1990.

Ms. Gow participated in the Women's Union Morning Circle group of the First Congregational Church in Falmouth. An avid singer, she also joined the church chorus here as well as in Clearwater and was proud of having had the chance to sing with the Boston Pops.

She leaves two sons, Bruce J. Gow and Neil F. Gow; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years; and by her daughter, Linnet N. Ferrie, who died in 2009.
