Michael P. Mullo died December 1.

Mr. Mullo was born and raised in Worcester, attended Worcester schools and graduated in 1954 from South High School. He graduated from Worcester Polytech Institute as an electrical engineer. While at WPI, he also joined the Army ROTC.

His career started with team efforts sending experiments to the moon. Among other companies, he worked for Raytheon as a design engineer, MIT/Lincoln Labs and finally retired from Motorola. He then moved to Falmouth, where he started his own company in mortgaging and financing.

Mr. Mullo met his wife Betsy Adams in 1980. They married in 1996.

Mr. Mullo played golf and was an avid runner. He ran the Falmouth Road Races many times and finished first in his age category a number of time. He also ran many local road races including the Friday Five, and ran the Boston Marathon, which he rant six times with a personal best of 2:50.

He and his wife traveled extensively all over the world, including remote areas. These travels often revolved around “adventure sports” or destinations for specific events.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his sister, Shirley Kotelly and her husband George, nieces and nephews, and step children.

A memorial service is planned for spring.
