Pauline E. DeBarros, 79, of East Falmouth died on January 27 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

She was the wife of Norman E. DeBarros, to whom she was married for 57 years.

Born in Falmouth, she was one of 12 children of Frank and Elizabeth (Randall) Gonsalves. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, where she was a majorette.

Ms. DeBarros was a longtime school bus driver for the Falmouth Public Schools and Cape Cod Collaborative.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Cape Verdean Club for 50 years.

Bingo games were a favorite pastime she enjoyed.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two children, Elizabeth A. DeBarros and Norman E. DeBarros Jr., both of Falmouth; six siblings, Sonya Avant of Randolph, Evangeline Lee of Enfield, Connecticut, Joan Tavares-Avant of Mashpee, and Arthur Gonsalves, Carl Gonsalves Sr. and Robert Sr. Gonsalves, all of Falmouth; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Friday, January 31, from 4 to 7 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Highway.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 1, at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery on Gifford Street in Falmouth.
