Richard Alwardt

Richard J. Alwardt, 65, of East Falmouth died February 2 from complications of COVID-19.

He was the husband of Joanne (Marshall) Alwardt for 47 years.

Mr. Alwardt was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Marine Corps, and worked for the United States Postal Service.

He and his wife had lived in Florida for 30 years.

Mr. Alwardt belonged to the Falmouth Lodge of Elks and the Moose Club of Cape Coral, Florida. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and camping among other pastimes.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his sisters, Anita Cohen and Doreen Montalvo; as well as nieces and nephews and other extended family.

He was predeceased by his father, Frank Alwardt; his mother, Beverly (Ferreira) Kuehnemund; stepfather, Evan Peters; and brother, Frank R. Alwardt.
