Robert J. Duffany, 55, of East Falmouth died at home Tuesday, January 28, of complications from diabetes.

Born in Falmouth, he was youngest of nine children of the late Vincent L. Duffany and Margaret E. (McAdams) Duffany of Falmouth. He was educated at Falmouth High School.

He served in the US Navy Reserve on a construction battalion. By profession Mr. Duffany was a skilled craftsman and carpenter, but he was accomplished in many trades.

He had an affinity for helping those in need and was known for his quick wit and storytelling. He also had a love for music.

In addition to his mother, he leaves his children, Alicia Duffany of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Robert Duffany of Taunton and Vincent Duffany of Falmouth; seven siblings, Christine M. Laughead, Michael A. Duffany, Mary L. Belanger, Stephen F. Duffany, Timothy J. Duffany, Paul V. Duffany and Joseph L. Duffany, all of Falmouth; and a large extended family.

In addition to his father, who died in 1983, he was preceded in death by his sister Patricia A. Dutra, who died in 2015.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, February 2, from 1 to 4 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 3, at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main Street in Falmouth.

Burial is private.
