Sandra M. Bryda of East Falmouth died Monday, September 6, at Cape Regency Rehabilitation & Health Center in Centerville. She was 77.

She was the wife of John A. Bryda; the couple married on March 16, 1963.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of Royal and Edna Sandland. She grew up in North Attleboro and graduated from high school in 1961.

Health issues resulted in Ms. Bryda’s being a stay-at-home wife and grandmother in 1996. It was a role she embraced.

Prior to her death she fought a three-month battle with cancer; she had survived breast cancer six years earlier.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, John A. Bryda Jr. of Franklin and Todd M. Bryda of Torrington, Connecticut; her granddaughters, Nicole Bryda of East Falmouth and Eleanor Bryda, also of Torrington; a great-granddaughter, Oliva Gomez of East Falmouth; five of six brothers and two sisters; and extended family.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, September 18, from 5 to 7 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

A private burial ceremony will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Falmouth.
