Sean M. Walsh, a former reporter for the Enterprise and a sales representative for On The Water magazine, died September 28. Mr. Walsh, who was from Marstons Mills, was 53. He died of cancer.

Mr. Walsh was born in Long Island, the son of William E. and Maggie E. Walsh. He grew up in South Acton and attended Acton schools.

Following high school, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served until 1989. While in the service, he attended Ithaca College, where he earned his bachelors of arts degree in English. He earned a master of arts degree in English from New York University while working as a copy editor for the Times Mirror in Manhattan. He worked for the Enterprise and On The Water in the 1990s.

He was for many years a coach for various little league and Babe Ruth league teams and football teams on the Cape. He was also active in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

He leaves his former wife, Jennifer Walsh; three children, Everett, Conor and Gillian Walsh of Marstons Mills; his sisters, Erinn Walsh King of Marblehead and Jennifer Ann Stephenson Walsh of San Francisco; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be private.
