Sheryl Anne Kozens-Long, 57, of East Falmouth and Bradenton, Florida, died on April 8, following a long illness.

She was the wife of Richard B. Long Jr.

The daughter of Mary Anne (Costa) Kozens and Kenneth J. Kozens, she was born on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When she was a toddler her parents moved back to Falmouth, where her mother had been raised; they had met when Mr. Kozens was stationed at Otis Air Force Base.

Ms. Kozens-Long had been a salon owner and bartender; in partnership with her husband, she was an independent manufacturer’s representative.

She was known to be an accomplished cook and baker. In addition to baking an elegant cake for the occasion, she could fix hair for an entire wedding party.

A passionate lover of animals, she rescued many dogs during her lifetime.

Ms. Kozens-Long also had served as a Falmouth Town Meeting member for Precinct Eight.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Amanda M. Braman of Mashpee; two stepchildren, Carolyn (Long) Korpusik of Savannah, Georgia, and Daniel Long of Clinton; two granddaughters; two brothers, Kenneth J. Kozens and Craig J. Kozens; and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father died in 2002 and her mother, in 2015.

A celebration of her life will be announced.
