Stephen Kennedy

Stephen D. Kennedy of Falmouth died at home on July 8. He was 63.

He was the husband of Allison E. (Love) Kennedy and the son of John J. and Edith F. (Richards) Kennedy.

A US Navy Corpsman in the 1970s, Mr. Kennedy subsequently remained active in assisting veteran support efforts through the Falmouth Military Support Group and Wounded Warrior Project, as well as participating in Veterans Day and Memorial Day services across Cape Cod.

Following his military service, he graduated with honors from the nursing program at Salve Regina College and worked as a registered nurse for many years.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Megan Manning and her husband, Mark Manning, of San Diego, California, and Karly Green and her husband, Nolan Green, of Port Hueneme, California; a son, Skyler Kennedy; four brothers, John, William, Gregory and Douglas Kennedy; two sisters, Deborah L. Netto and Nancy Calfee; his former wife, Celeste Vascik; and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Ryan J. Kennedy.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, from 4 to 7 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.

Mr. Kennedy will be buried at sea in a private family ceremony.
