Victor H. Kester, a veteran of World War II who celebrated his 102nd birthday on July 28, died August 21. He died at his home in Falmouth, where his daughter, Kristin T. Kester, had cared for him for more than 20 years.

The son of Walter Edward Kester and Elizabeth Hope Kester, he was born in Revere and moved to Swampscott at the age of 9 with his parents and two younger brothers. He graduated from Swampscott High School and furthered his education at Boston University, School of Engineering.
