Virginia M. (Nee) Resca, 89, of Chelsea and East Falmouth died July 6.

She was the widow of Lawrence A. Resca.

Ms. Resca was a former teacher in the Chelsea Public Schools.

A woman of faith, she was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Church.

For the past three years, Ms. Resca had been under the care of the staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital Yawkey Cancer Center.

She leaves four children, Kevin Resca of Guilford, New Hampshire, Virginia Reardon and her husband, Edward Reardon, of Washington, Maine, Paula Konieczko and her husband, John Halbert, of Foxboro and Falmouth, and Jo-Anne Kenny and her husband, Michael Kenny, of Wakefield; two siblings, Beverly Lyons of Falmouth and Kevin Nee of Madison, Connecticut; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Murphy.

Memorial services will be at a future date.
