Virginia Robinson

Virginia P. (Page) Robinson, 88, of North Falmouth died on June 15 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

She was the widow of Richard P. Robinson, to whom she had been married for 48 years.

Born in Great Barrington, she was the daughter of Frank Page and Helen (Schaefer) Page.

A 1949 graduate of Great Barrington High School, she attended Framingham State College.

Ms. Robinson worked as the assistant town clerk in Needham from 1980 to 1991. Before that, she worked as the head cook in the Needham school system from 1958 to 1980.

During the 1990s, she was an active member of the Falmouth Newcomers, often coordinating different programs and events for club, and then participated with the Falmouth Encore Club from the late 1990s to early 2000s.

A golfer, Ms. Robinson joined Pocasset Golf Club from 1991 to 2005.

She also enjoyed travel, her card group, working on puzzles and reading.

She leaves her son, Walter P. Robinson of Auburn; a granddaughter, Ashley P. Robinson of Tolland, Connecticut; a sister, Wilma Hagen of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and other family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Claire Collins.

Visiting hours will be Monday, June 24, from 2 to 4 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, with a funeral service to follow at 4 o’clock in the funeral home.

Burial will take place at a later date at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
