William Vrettas

William T. Vrettas of Falmouth Heights died at home on April 15. He was 80.

Mr. Vrettas was a real estate developer, spending most of his professional years with Pappas Management in South Boston.

He grew up in Lowell. Accomplished at basketball, he played for Tufts University and then Suffolk University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

He married Joan F. DiSilva, and the couple settled in Wayland and raised a family there.

He entertained many guests at his Cape house. A member of Falmouth Men’s Club, he also played cards and cribbage, went golfing and spent time at Falmouth Yacht Club.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, he leaves two daughters, Glens Colman of Needham and Holly McDonald of Falmouth; a son, William A. Vrettas of Milton; eight grandchildren; and extended family.

A funeral Mass was said on Monday, April 19, at St. Patrick’s Church in Falmouth.

Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery on Jones Road.
