I fail to see the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department’s logic in paying only one volunteer overtime firefighter, only to send him/her up to North Falmouth. Two’s a couple and three’s a crowd at North Falmouth because he/she is severely limited by the two-firefighter-per-apparatus rule.
It must be a nice gig, being paid but not able to do much but sit around or sleep.
Needless overtime for what purpose?
How about no overtime shift if only one person volunteers? That would be an incentive for the first volunteer to recruit a second, thus increasing the likelihood of West Falmouth coverage.
Let’s be financially prudent and not milk the system.
