Women are mobilizing globally this weekend around social justice issues. “Knowledge is Power” and understanding the complexities of social justice is integral for action and change.

On Sunday, January 19, from 2 to 4 PM the Upper Cape Women’s Coalition will hold the only Cape-wide event, “Women Rising,” as part of this global mobilization. The indoor event will be held at the First Congregational Church, 68 Main Street in Falmouth.

Women will participate in three roundtable discussions: Climate Change, Immigration and Reproductive Health. These three social justice issues intersect and are barriers to ending poverty, violence and hunger worldwide. Men are welcome to participate in the roundtable discussion: “Men Working with Women Rising for Change.”

If there was ever a time for all to be informed and raise their voices, it is now. We invite the community to join us in this important event.
