The Bourne High School girls' soccer team was defeated 8-0 on the road by Dighton-Rehoboth Regional on Monday, September 27, in a one-sided game. Coach Rui Correia was not pleased with how things went for the Canalmen.

“We did not show up to play, and that hurts,” the coach said.

Correia reported that five of the goals scored by the Falcons were the result of turnovers in the defensive end. D-R built a 3-0 first-half lead and then poured it on down the stretch, looking to add to its total all the way to the final minute of play.

Goalie Emma Bourgault was under constant pressure throughout the game. She made a total of 18 saves.

Paige Meda had a strong game at outside fullback for Bourne. Zoe Ridl was a solid contributor in the midfield throughout.
