The Falmouth High School track and field teams came away with a split in their first ever Cape and Islands League Meet on Tuesday, December 17, at Wheaton College. Falmouth’s boys team edged Martha’s Vineyard by a 54-46 score, while the girls fell 48-46.
Petrashea Johnson had a big outing in the 300-meter race for the FHS ladies, winning with a time of 47.64 seconds. MJ Leocadio was first in the hurdles, running a nice time of 10.47 seconds.
The girls’ 4x200-meter relay team won with a time of 2:00.20. That team consisted of Colleen Caswell, Catelyn Charette, Catherine Cone and Johnson.
Abby Chorches had a very strong early season throw in the shot put. She won with a toss of 39-5.
For the boys, Liam Enneguess was first in the 55-meter dash. He ran a time of 7.18 seconds. Marvell Nicholson won in the 300-meter with a clocking of 37.9 seconds.
In the 600-meter race, Coleby Andrade scored a win in 1:34. The 4x200-meter relay squad won in 1:41.10. That team consisted of Enneguess, Kyle Gaudreault, Eamon Mackilligan and Nicholson.
Gaudreault also picked up a win in the long jump. He cleared 18-9.5. Ethan Harper earned two wins, scoring victories in the high jump, at 5-8, and the shot put, at 43-5.
