Falmouth Academy added a new varsity sport this year and earned its first-ever win in cross-country during its debut. The boys’ cross-country team beat both Cape Cod Academy and Rising Tide in its first meet of the year.

FA beat CCA by a 23-32 score and topped Rising Tide 21-28. The girls team did not have enough competitors to score their meet.

For the boys’ team, Tarun Gonneea was the top finisher for the Mariners, placing second overall. He ran a time of 18 minutes and 38 seconds. Henry Quan was third overall with a time of 18:40. FA also got points from Wylie Wakefield, Soren Peterson and Ned Heywood.

The girls’ team had just two runners, but they excelled. Bianca Greco was first overall, running a time of 21:38. Willow Wakefield ran to a third-place finish with a time of 23:47.
