The state tournament-bound Falmouth Academy girls’ lacrosse team bounced back from a three-game losing streak against three quality teams to rout Cape Cod Academy on Monday, May 20, on the road.

The Mariners ran out to a 15-4 first-half lead and eased to the finish line with a 17-7 win against the Seahawks. FA improved to 12-5 overall on the season with its win.

Ava Russell led the offensive attack for FA with five goals in the game, while Ainsley Ramsey had two goals and three assists. Ramsey also won seven draw controls. Emma Keller had two goals and an assist in the game.

Lucca MacDonald and Maria Medeiros potted two goals apiece. Single scores came from Kyra Ramsey, who also had an assist, Sarah Kerr, Lilly Kurelja and Jess Green. Victoria Searle had four saves.

Falmouth will play two games next week to finish off the regular season. The team is back in action next at St. John Paul II on Tuesday, May 28. Two days later, they will make up a rained-out game with Mashpee in Falmouth with a 3 PM start time on May 30.
