Keeler Sprints To The Attack

Falmouth Academy’s Emma Keeler wheels up the field for the Mariners against Mashpee High.

Falmouth Academy closed out its regular season with a 13-7 victory against a Mashpee team playing its penultimate contest of the 2019 season yesterday, May 30, in Falmouth. The win for the Mariners ended their regular season at 13-6 overall. They now will prepare for the upcoming state tournament.

Mashpee has one more game, on Friday, May 31, today against visiting Hull. Having come short of the tournament qualification requirement, that will be it for MHS in 2019.

FA jumped out to an early lead and was in good shape after that to the final horn. The Mariners did a great job of controlling the draws throughout the first half, which helped them to a 5-0 lead in the early going and 9-3 advantage at halftime.

Ainsley Ramsey led the home team with five goals. Emma Keeler and Maria Medeiros each had three and Grace Russell and Sarah Keer both finished with one.

Mashpee’s Sam Morry paced the offense for the visitors. Morry scored three in the game. Ainsley Kiefer, Callia Eaton, Dana Richmond and Anna O’Neill fired home a goal each for MHS.
