Gerald Mahoney

With a proven defensive system, it was a safe bet that the Falmouth High School boys’ basketball team would be able to make life hard on Martha’s Vineyard’s offense in the first game of the season on December 17. Coach Paul Lundberg’s biggest concern entering the season was exactly where the team’s offense would flow from. For one night at least it came from junior Gerald Mahoney. Playing in his first varsity game for the Clippers, Mahoney collected a team-high 18 points. He had the go-ahead basket in the fourth quarter to complete a 12-point comeback, and added a pair of key free throws late as well.
