Falmouth High School senior Henry Gartner is aiming to do what no other Falmouth High runner has ever done, which is certainly saying something considering the history of running in this town. Gartner, coming off the heels of winning the Division 2B championship last weekend, will head to this week’s state race with a chance to become the first Clipper ever to win the individual state title in cross-country.

For certain, the senior will be one of the favorites to take the title after his dominant performance last weekend at Stanley Park in Holyoke. The harrier ran the 5K race with an average split time of 4:55 and crossed the finish line nearly a full minute before the second place finisher.
