Falmouth High School senior Henry Gartner narrowly missed out on the Division 2 state championship on Saturday, November 19, at Fort Devens at the MIAA championship cross-country meet. The star runner for the Clippers took second place overall in a fast race against some of the most elite competitors in Massachusetts.

Gartner finished second by a hair, as a slow start cost him in the end. The senior put on a burst of speed and began picking off runners one by one until he was side by side with Nashoba’s Adam Balewicz and chasing Burlington’s Rithikh Prakash.
