Falmouth High School junior Henry Gartner finished a superb cross country season by earning a top-10 finish at the All-State championship match in Wrentham on Saturday, November 20.

Gartner placed sixth overall, less than a second out of fourth place. He was 35.1 seconds behind the champion, senior Freddy Collins of Nashoba. The Clippers’ top distance runner finished in 16 minutes and three seconds flat and was the third junior overall. He was three-tenths of a second behind fifth-place finisher Eric Sekaya of Burlington. Mekonnen Eon of Danvers was fourth in 16:02.2.

Falmouth Academy 8th grader Elise Casso was 42nd overall in the girls’ race. She ran a time of 20:37.8, the fifth-fastest time for an 8th grader.

Shae Regan of Littleton won the championship. The senior ran a time of 17:47, which was 28.9 seconds ahead of Madelyn Germain of Norfolk County.
