It was a good day for the Falmouth High School track athletes on Tuesday, January 21, at Wheaton College against Dennis-Yarmouth. The boys scored a big win, downing the Dolphins by a 63-37 score, while the girls ran to a draw against D-Y, with each team scoring 50 points.
Erik Larrey picked up a win for Falmouth High in the hurdles, running a time of 9.50 seconds. Marvell Nicholson was the winner in the 300m race, finishing with a fast time of 38.3 seconds.
Liam Enneguess sped to a time of 7.14 seconds in the 55m dash for a victory. Kyle Gaudreault long jumped 18 feet, 2.75 inches, which was good for the win.
Ethan Harper got two wins for the Clippers. Harper was first in the high jump, at 5-6, and also won the shot put with a throw of 43-3.5.
The 4x200m relay team scored a win in 1:39.20. The team consisted of Gaudreault, Eamon Mackilligan, Enneguess and Nicholson.
For the ladies, Petrashea Johnson ran to a win in the 55m dash with a fast time of 7.9 seconds. She also claimed a win in the long jump at 14-3.5.
Colleen Caswell won the 300m in 44.24 seconds. Josephine Oberton won the two-mile race in 14:30 and Marlayna Leocadio won the 55m hurdles in 10.18 seconds. Abby Chorches won the shot put with a throw of 37-2.
Both relays ran to wins. The 4x200 team finished in 1:55.8, and was made up of Caswell, Catelyn Charette, Johnson and Catherine Cone. The 4x400m team of Oberton, Camdyn Swain, Maria Leoccadio and Kaitlyn McKay won in 5:08.2.
