Falmouth High School’s track and field teams suffered a sweep at the hands of Nauset High School on Tuesday, April 23, in Eastham. The Nauset boys won an 81-55 meet against the Clippers, while the ladies from NHS scored a 101-34 victory.

Abby Chorches won two events for the Falmouth girls, taking first in the shot put and the discus. The junior won the shot put with a throw of 35 feet and 11 inches. She also topped the field in the discus with a twirl of 95-1. Emma Donovan picked up third in the shot with a throw of 26-5. Donovan also had second-place points for FHS in the 200m race. She finished in a time of 29.5 seconds.

Hannah Willy had the only other individual victory for the FHS ladies on the day. The senior captured first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.9 seconds. Petrashea Johnson had a second-place finish for FHS in the 100m dash in 13.2 seconds. She was also second in the javelin throw with a distance of 67-4. Johnson claimed third in the long jump at 14-3.

The boys had a little more success. Ethan Harper took first place in the shot put with a throw of 40-8. That led a sweep by the Clippers. Harper also placed second in the 100m hurdles in a time of 18.9 seconds.

Aidan Washington won the long jump, soaring 20-7.5 to win by nearly a foot. He also was second in the long jump at 5-4.

Marvell Nicholson took first place in the 400m race in a time of 53.2 seconds. Marcus Gonsalves was second in the 100m race in 11.2 seconds.

Colby Andrade was second in the 800m race in 2:23.7.
